JEFFREY M. KICHEN
Background
Jeffrey M. Kichen is Director of Research for The Roche Associates of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, and has over twenty-eight years experience in marketing research for senior living and health care facility development.
Mr. Kichen co-authored with Mr. Roche the first national study of Continuing Care Retirement Community residents as well as other articles on senior living industry. He also authored a college textbook, Advancing Health through Education, which was widely adopted across the country by leading schools of public health.
He formerly was Vice-President for Strategy and Planning for the Massachusetts Medical Society, the owner and publisher of the New England Journal of Medicine where he was responsible for strategic planning initiatives across the corporation including new product and service development. He also co-authored a seminal policy on privacy and confidentiality, elements of which were incorporated into federal regulations.
Mr. Kichen also has been adjunct instructor at a number of universities and colleges, and has taught courses in statistics, survey research, program evaluation, U.S. health policy, and community health education. He is currently a part time instructor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is a member of numerous professional associations including the American Public Health Association and the American Sociological Association. He is past president of the New England Health Education Association.
He holds a Masters of Science in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts, and graduated from the University of Connecticut with Honors in History.
Responsibilities
As Director of Research, Mr. Kichen is responsible for designing and conducting feasibility and market demand studies for senior housing and long term care products. He also develops the research protocols for all client commissioned research projects.
